HBO Storybook Musicals: The Tale of Peter Rabbit (HBO, Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.) tells the story of the mischievous little hare who lives with his mother and three siblings--Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail--in the sand bank under the root of a fir tree. For ages 2 to 7.

The Power Rangers exhibit their athletic skills in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (Cinemax, Tuesday at 10:45 a.m.). The rangers take on an evil alien that is wreaking havoc on a small town. For ages 6 to 13.

Jirimpimbira: An African Folktale (ABC, Saturday at 11:30 a.m.) is an animated adaptation of Kathleen Arnott’s book, “Tales of Temba.” Temba, a poor but noble boy, through his kindness and generosity saves his village from starvation. For ages 7 to 10.

An all-new Lassie series, launched March 2 on Animal Planet, reunited television viewers with the legendary collie. Subsequently, new episodes appear on Saturdays with two half-hour segments (Animal Planet, 8 and 8:30 p.m.). This week’s first episode finds Lassie searching for someone to heal Shadow, a thoroughbred horse. In the second, Lassie and Timmy try to rescue a biker who is stranded on a cliff. For the family.
