Goalie Nikolai Khabibulin’s shutout streak ended as the Senators got goals from Alexandre Daigle, Alexei Yashin, Steve Duchesne and Daniel Alfredsson in posting a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night at Phoenix.

Khabibulin, named NHL player of the week earlier after consecutive shutouts at Florida, Tampa Bay and Chicago, finished with 25 saves in his 27th consecutive start.

He set a shutout streak at a franchise-record 204 minutes and was trying to become the first NHL goalie to notch four in row since Hall of Famer Bill Durnan of Montreal in 1948-49.

Montreal 2, Pittsburgh 2--Valeri Bure and Stephane Richer scored in the last 3:35 of the third period to rally the Canadiens at Pittsburgh.

Montreal pulled goalie Jocelyn Thibault for an extra attacker with 2:29 left in the third period before Richer scored at 18:08.

Toronto 3, Dallas 3--Darby Hendrickson’s goal with 47 seconds left in the third period lifted the Maple Leafs to a tie at Toronto.

Chicago 2, Vancouver 2--The Blackhawks lost the apparent go-ahead goal on a bad call by referee Don Koharski and had to settle for a tie at Chicago.

With 1:04 left in the second period, Koharski disallowed a goal by Ethan Moreau because Murray Craven hit goalie Corey Hirsch just before the shot. Replays, however, showed that Vancouver defenseman Bret Hedican knocked Craven into Hirsch, so the goal should have counted.
