Duck update--They are in the middle of the Western Conference playoff pack thanks to a franchise-record nine-game unbeaten streak (6-0-3). They also are 11-1-1 in the Last 13 home games. Goalie Guy Hebert has a 1.62 goals-against average during the Ducks’ nine-game streak. Right wing Teemu Selanne, second in the NHL with 91 points, has six goals in the last four games. The Ducks are 22-10-4 when Selanne scores a goal. Forward Jari Kurri’s next point will be his 1,370th in the NHL, putting him into 10th place on the all-time scoring list. Kurri also needs six goals to become the eighth player in history score 600.

Blues update--St. Louis believed its problems were solved when it fired coach Mike Keenan and replaced him with Joel Quenneville Dec. 19. The Blues went 10-6-2 in Quenneville’s first 18 games and seemed like a playoff lock. But the Blues have slumped badly recently. Their 4-3 victory over San Jose on Tuesday was their first on the road since Jan. 30. They were 2-6-2 in the last 10 games before Thursday’s game against the Kings at the Forum.
