Golf Course Hopefuls to Be Cut to Two

Share

Four potential developers of a new golf course will be interviewed Monday at a special meeting of the City Council.

The council will narrow the field to two companies, one of which will develop an 18- or a 27-hole course on a 205-acre parcel in the northern part of the city.

City officials expect to make a final choice within 10 months.

Although the city plans to spend $11 million on the course, officials expect to earn that money back quickly. Estimates project the city will earn $1.4 million during the course’s first year. By the fifth, it is expected to make a profit of $2.5 million.

Green fees are expected to be $55 during the week and $75 on weekends.

Councilman John Gullixson said the council hopes to negotiate a discount rate for Yorba Linda residents.

The council meets Monday at 1 p.m. at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave. Information: (714) 961-7100.
