Duck update--Today’s game is crucial for their playoff prospects, since eighth-place Calgary is only one point behind the seventh-place Ducks despite the Ducks’ franchise-record 10-game unbeaten streak. The Flames have won three of four games between the teams this season--holding the Ducks to one goal three times--but were beaten badly once, in a 7-0 loss Dec. 20. Friday’s 4-4 tie against St. Louis marked only the second time in 10 games goalie Guy Hebert has given up more than two goals.

Flame update--They’ve reached the final game of a grueling seven-game, 15-day trip in decent shape, with a 3-3 record after beating the Kings, 5-2, Saturday at the Forum.
