King update--The Kings have lost three consecutive games and are 9-15-3 against Pacific Division teams. Newly acquired right wing Glen Murray had an assist against the Mighty Ducks in his first game as a King on Wednesday. The Kings have won only five games when an opponent scored first and are 3-23-3 when they trail after the first period.

Shark update--Viktor Kozlov scored an unassisted power-play goal in the third period to give the Sharks a 2-1 victory over Vancouver on Thursday to end a five-game losing streak. San Jose, which has the worst record in the NHL, trails the Kings by four points but has dominated the season series. The Sharks have outscored the Kings, 17-10, with former King goalie Kelly Hrudey having won two of the three games.
