Driver Dies After Vehicle Strikes Pole
A 58-year-old man died Wednesday after he apparently drove through a red light and struck a pole, police said.
Witnesses said they saw a driver in a Ford Explorer go through a red light at Alton Parkway and Pacifica and into the traffic signal pole about 10:10 a.m., Sgt. Jim Lowder said.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of his family, Lowder said.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, police said.
