Only Roy Paying Price for Donnybrook

Although Colorado was whistled for 20 penalties and 75 minutes and Detroit was called for 19 and 73 minutes, no suspensions were meted out by the league in the wake of the teams’ brawl game Wednesday.
Claude Lemieux, Patrick Roy and Peter Forsberg of the Avalanche were all bloodied in the melee on the Red Wings’ ice.
Roy, who squared off with goaltending counterpart Mike Vernon, will miss today’s game against Toronto because of a slightly sprained shoulder he suffered while coming to Lemieux’s aid.
As a result, the Avalanche have called up goaltender Jean-Francois Labbe from Hershey of the AHL.
