The lineup for the Lilith Fair, the female pop festival tour this summer spearheaded by Sarah McLachlan, is coming together. Jewel and Fiona Apple have each signed on to do a portion of the eight-week trek, joining the Indigo Girls, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Suzanne Vega, Paula Cole and the Cardigans among those who will be on board for at least a week. A Southland date is planned for the tour’s first week, in early July. . . .

Techno pioneer Moby is in “serious discussion” with Axl Rose about producing the next Guns N’ Roses album, according to the band’s management. No official recording schedule has been set yet, though. . . . Another techno ace, Aphex Twin, is remixing a portion of Philip Glass’ new “Heroes Symphony,” an orchestral work based on the 1977 David Bowie-Brian Eno collaboration “Heroes.” . . .

Trent Reznor has commissioned top dance-music figures Plug (just signed to Reznor’s Nothing Records label), Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto, Space Time Continuum, the Orb and Aphrodite to each remix “The Perfect Drug,” his Nine Inch Nails track from the “Lost Highway” soundtrack. . . .

R&B; group Brownstone has a new album, “Still Climbing,” due June 24 from executive producer Michael Jackson’s MJJ Records, and is teaming with Blackstreet for a “Black and Brown” world tour starting April 1 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. . . . Jodeci’s K-Ci & Jo-Jo are working on a new album, “Love Always,” due June 3, with one track produced by Babyface. . . .

In belated honor of the 10th anniversary of Paul Simon’s 1986 “Graceland” album, Warner Bros. Records is releasing a new “enhanced” CD adding CD-ROM visuals, including performance and interview footage and notes about the South African sessions for the album. The new version should begin showing up in stores at the end of April, with full distribution in June.
