What a pleasant surprise to see my sons’ band, the Optics, mentioned in Pop Eye (March 16).

Although my boys, Tim and Dash, and their friend Nick McCarroll do not let me have anything to do with their music, they do let me “roadie” for them as long as I melt into the background at their gigs. I am very proud of them. They’ll be playing at the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park on April 11.

By the way, Three Dog Night is alive and well. We are doing 100 dates this year, ending when we play the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on New Year’s Eve. DANNY HUTTON
