Duck update--Coach Ron Wilson called off practice Saturday, hoping to rest his road-weary team. Today’s game is the last on its season-high six-game trip. He hopes to have right wing Teemu Selanne (strained muscles in his left side) and goalie Guy Hebert (fatigue) fit when the Ducks return home to play Chicago on Tuesday. Neither is expected to play today. Left wing Paul Kariya, who scored his 39th goal Friday, has a slim shot at scoring 50 for the second consecutive season.

Red Wing update--They won their second consecutive overtime game Friday with a 2-1 victory over Buffalo. Sergei Fedorov, struggling offensively at times this season, played his second consecutive game on defense. Coach Scotty Bowman moved Fedorov to the blue line to better use his skating and puck-handling skills. So far, Fedorov seems happy with the move. Detroit was 9-0-3 against the Ducks the past three seasons but is winless against them in three games in 1996-97.
