Osuna Gets Ticket to Albuquerque

The Dodgers finalized their roster by sending pitcher Antonio Osuna to Albuquerque on Sunday. That left pitcher Darren Hall with the team.

Hall, 32, had 1.69 earned-run average and two saves in 10 relief appearances this spring. Osuna had a 12.38 ERA and walked eight batters in eight innings.

“It isn’t his stuff, it is his mechanics,” Manager Bill Russell said. “He’ll go down there and get some work and come back. We’re going to need him.”

Osuna, who appeared in 73 games last season as the set-up man for Todd Worrell, had arthroscopic knee surgery during the off-season and did not pitch in winter ball for the first time.

“It came down to someone had to go,” Russell said. “Darren pitched better. He beat him out.”

With Osuna gone, Darren Dreifort will be the set-up man. He had two saves and a 2.08 ERA in nine appearances this spring.
