Share

Opponent--Dallas Stars.

Site--Pond of Anaheim.

Time--7:30.

TV--ESPN2.

Radio--KEZY-FM (95.9).

Records--Ducks 33-33-13, Stars 47-23-6.

Record vs. Stars--0-3.

Duck update--They could clinch their first trip to the playoffs as early as tonight, but to do it they would have to break Dallas’ 11-game unbeaten streak and ninth-place Calgary would have to lose to 10th-place Vancouver. Still, even if the Ducks go 0-3 down the stretch, their playoff spot will be assured if Calgary loses twice in its final five games and Vancouver fails to win one of its final five. Teemu Selanne needs two goals for a 50-goal season, Paul Kariya is five points from 100, and Jari Kurri is four goals from becoming only the eighth player to score 600 NHL goals.

Star update--Dallas is unbeaten in its last 11 games and has won seven in a row, tying a franchise record. Their 9-0-2 run has helped the Stars clinch the Central Division title, but more impressive, they have moved to only three points behind Colorado for first in the Western Conference. “With six games left, we’ve got Colorado on our minds,” Benoit Hogue said after his goal with 33 seconds left gave the Stars a 5-4 victory over the Islanders on Wednesday. “We want to be the top team overall.” Mike Modano has 33 goals and 79 points for Dallas, which has won 12 of its last 13 games against the Ducks.
