Man Is Charged in Firebombing
Prosecutors filed attempted murder charges Friday against a man suspected of firebombing the north Long Beach home of a retired Los Angeles County fire official.
Oscar Lopez, 46, was being held on $1 million bail. Neighbors caught him running from the home of Alvin “Jack” Hinton, 70, on Wednesday.
Investigators said Lopez mistakenly believed his wife or girlfriend was in the house. Hinton suffered second- and third-degree burns.
