CSUN Development

Share

Cal State Northridge’s proposed University MarketCenter is nothing more than another Valley strip mall masquerading as support for CSUN’s educational mission and program.

The environmental impact report states that the proposed development would create “350 jobs, many for students.” So what are grad students supposed to learn from the development’s minimum-wage jobs? To attend more college? Or maybe the development could be a work-study program on what not to do with your life.

CSUN officials should return to their mission of educating students with the highest achievable standards. Focus on this and then future students will feel that a CSUN education is worth paying more for, which would cover any financial shortfalls the university may currently have.
