Ideas Solicited for Name of New School
The committee seeking suggestions on what to name Newport-Mesa Unified School District’s new elementary campus is still gathering ideas.
Three nominations so far are Newport Coast Elementary School, Pelican Crest Elementary School and Newport Ridge Elementary School.
School board members said they would like more public input from Corona del Mar and Newport Coast, the communities to be served by the new campus, before making a decision.
The new school, Newport-Mesa’s first in more than 20 years, is being built to accommodate families in Newport Coast, now under construction.
