Latinos Invited to College Conference
More than 350 high school seniors are expected to participate in Golden West College’s Chicano Latino College Conference on Friday.
Students will hear motivational speeches and participate in workshops introducing young people to college and encouraging them to pursue higher education.
College officials said that statistics show that Latino students represent one of the fastest-growing populations in the area, yet have one of the lowest rates of college attendance.
