Habitat for Humanity Says Thanks

Share

Habitat for Humanity of Orange County has honored the city, Auto Trader magazine and Home Depot for their efforts for the organization, which works to eliminate substandard housing.

In 1996, Huntington Beach gave Habitat a Community Development Block Grant and waived all building permit fees, paving the way for the group to build three homes in the city this year.

Auto Trader, a longtime donor to Habitat, gave the group $50,000 last year. And Home Depot supplies Habitat chapters nationwide with building materials and volunteers.

Since it was founded in 1988, the Orange County Habitat chapter has built 62 homes for low-income families.

The group is a nonprofit, nondenominational housing ministry that helps people in need build their own homes and grants them no-interest loans.
