Lakers, Clippers Expected to Have Playoff Games on Alternate Days
The playoff dates for the Lakers and Clippers began to come into focus Friday, with it appearing likely that the two teams will at least start their respective first-round series on alternating nights.
No official announcement is expected until Sunday, but barring a late change the Lakers will have Games 1 and 2 at the Forum next Friday and Sunday, no matter their finish and the opponent in the best-of-five matchup. The Clippers, facing the Utah Jazz, are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday at the Delta Center.
The rest of the dates will be decided by the end of this weekend, depending on network desires and arena availabilities. But the Clippers will have Game 3 and, if necessary, Game 4 at the Sports Arena, while the Lakers have road games. If a Game 5 is needed, it goes back to the Forum or Delta Center.
