2 Juveniles Arrested in Attack on Man, 50
Ventura police arrested two teenage boys suspected of beating and robbing a Ventura man early Sunday.
The 14- and 17-year-old suspects are accused of attacking James Hawkins, 50, about 1 a.m. in the 200 block of North Ventura Avenue.
According to police, Hawkins was walking on the east side of the street when two males attacked him. The 14-year-old is accused of grabbing Hawkins and holding him while the other suspect allegedly struck him several times in the face and body.
Police said the 17-year-old was removing property from the victim when officers arrived and took the pair into custody.
Hawkins suffered minor injuries in the attack and did not require medical attention. Both youths, who have known gang affiliations, were taken to Juvenile Hall.
