* IN REVIEW: The Ducks held the Coyotes without a shot for almost half of the period. Coach Ron Wilson scratched defenseman Dan Trebil and center Sean Pronger and went with defenseman Darren Van Impe and forward Igor Nikulin.

* SCORING: None.

* KEY PLAYS: With the Ducks on a power play after Jayson More went off for interference, Khabibulin made key stops on shots by Brian Bellows and Dmitri Mironov.

SECOND PERIOD: MIGHTY DUCKS: 2, COYOTES: 0

* IN REVIEW: Goals by Kariya and Bellows gave the Ducks the momentum and confidence they seemed to have lacked since their victory in Game 2.

Saves: Hebert 6, Khabibulin 14.

* SCORING: Ducks 1, Phoenix 0--Their first lead since Game 2 came on Kariya’s power-play goal at 6:12. Khabibulin stopped Kariya’s first shot from the right faceoff circle, but couldn’t get to the rebound.

Ducks 2, Phoenix 0--Bellows became the first Duck forward other than Kariya or Teemu Selanne to score. Mironov’s wraparound shot failed, but Bellows shoveled in the rebound.

* KEY PLAYS: Duck winger Ted Drury wiped out Coyote center Jeremy Roenick with an awkward open-ice check at 8:33. Roenick suffered an injured left knee and did not return. . . . Selanne squeezed a shot past Khabibulin, but replays available to reporters were inconclusive. It was ruled no goal.

THIRD PERIOD: MIGHTY DUCKS: 2, COYOTES: 2

* IN REVIEW: The Coyotes came to life on Darrin Shannon’s goal. Keith Tkachuk sent it to overtime with his series-leading sixth goal.

Saves: Hebert 3, Khabibulin 5.

* SCORING: Ducks 2, Phoenix 1--Shannon beat a sprawling Hebert for his third goal of the series after a pass through traffic from Cliff Ronning at 9:00.

Ducks 2, Phoenix 2--Tkachuk converted on a power play at 17:44. He was alone in front of Hebert to accept a pass from Craig Janney.

* KEY PLAYS: Ronning’s backhand pass to Shannon began the Coyotes’ comeback. . . . Duck defenseman David Karpa’s takedown on Tkachuk at 16:11 prevented a breakaway, but it also set up the game-tying goal on the power play.

OVERTIME/FINAL: MIGHTY DUCKS: 3, COYOTES: 2

* IN REVIEW: The Ducks swarmed the Phoenix net. Kariya ended it with a blast past Khabibulin.

Saves: Hebert 2, Khabibulin 6.

* SCORING: Ducks 3, Phoenix 2--Kariya ripped in a slap shot from the left faceoff circle at 7:29.

* KEY PLAY: Selanne’s flip pass out of the zone sent Kariya ahead for the game-winner.
