TONIGHT’S GAME

ANGELS’ JASON DICKSON (6-2, 3.78 ERA) vs. TWINS’ BOB TEWKSBURY (2-5, 3.57 ERA)

* Update--Because of baseball’s television contract, the Angels had no choice but a 7:30 start Wednesday night, which means their charter plane figured to land in Minnesota at about 7 a.m. this morning. “This is a travel situation I’ve never run across . . . in the major leagues, anyway,” Manager Terry Collins said. When will the all-night trip affect the team the most? “The first three games,” Collins said. “We can’t worry about it though. We’ve just got to do it.” The Angels have won 15 of the last 23 games. The Twins have lost 24 of their last 39. Dickson, who has two complete games and the eighth-best winning percentage in the league, is giving up only 2.6 walks per nine innings. Tewksbury has struck out 38 and walked only 13 in 63 innings. The Twins have the third-worst team earned-run average (5.46) in baseball, but their bullpen is 4-1 with seven saves in the last 18 games.

* Friday, 5 p.m.--Chuck Finley (3-4, 4.95) vs. Scott Aldred (2-8, 7.11).

* Saturday, 5 p.m.--Matt Perisho (0-1, 10.13) vs. Brad Radke (4-5, 5.00).

* Sunday, 11 a.m.--Dennis Springer (3-2, 5.51) vs. Rich Robertson (6-3, 5.71).
