Alan Burke hit two home runs and drove in five runs as the Vigilantes stopped a three-game losing streak with an 8-5 victory over Reno in a Western Baseball League game that was stopped after six innings because of rain.

With the Vigilantes (8-8) leading, 5-3, to start the fifth, Cal Nichols doubled and Sam Taylor singled. Burke then hit a three-run homer.

Burke, who had two-run homer in the third, has four home runs and 21 runs batted in this season.

Paul Anderson, the league’s pitcher of the year last season, gave up single runs in five of the six innings for the Vigilantes but got the victory. Reno is 12-4.

Anderson (1-2) gave up 11 hits and had five strikeouts, which raised his team-leading total to 21.

The Vigilantes finished their trip 3-6. They host a three-game series with Grays Harbor at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at Saddleback College.
