26. LAKE SKINNER--Striped bass boiling sporadically in morning hours but few are being caught. Anchovies getting some down deep during day. Other species slow.

27. LAKE PERRIS--Largemouth bass active throughout lake. Ray Smith, Corona, 9-0 bass, on Rat-L-Trap lure at water slide area. Robert Gregg, Highland, 8-2 bass, on Power Plug in marina. Shane Chilton, Sun City, 7-2 bass, on salt-n-pepper plastic worm in marina. Trout fair for trollers using lead-core line and Needlefish lures. Bluegill good throughout lake.

28. SAN DIEGO CITY LAKES--Bluegill fishermen would be in heaven at San Vicente: More than 3,000 were landed in the past week. Bass fishermen doing fair at all lakes, with Hodges yielding the top fish, an 11-8. Catfish good at Hodges, fair everywhere else.

29. LAKE CUYAMACA--Everything slow but tiny crappie.

30. BIG BEAR LAKE--A 10-pound 13-ounce trout was landed by Mike Werner, Glendora, on a Kastmaster at Trout Alley. Lots of fish over 5-0, caught on everything from flasher-night crawler combos to Roostertails to Power Bait. Some bass and sunfish being caught mostly on small plastics.

31. BISHOP--Bishop Creek the best bet for limits of trout and mosquito bites. The pesky insects are swarming throughout the region. Lake Sabrina and South Lake good. North Lake fair. Owens River slow to fair. Pleasant Valley Reservoir good for perch, fair for trout.

32. MAMMOTH LAKES AREA--Crowley Lake yielding rainbows and browns to 4-0, and an occasional larger fish. Perch fishing is wide open, with purple crappie jigs getting most. Convict Lake produced an 8-7 (night crawler-salmon egg combo) and a couple of 7-9s, and lots of smaller trout. Rock Creek yielding limits of pan-size rainbows and browns. Rock Creek Lake, Twin Lakes, Lake George fair as well. An angler at Lake Mary reportedly lost a fish in the 18-pound class at the boat. This might sound surprising, but there are a few fish that big in the lake.

33. JUNE LAKE LOOP--Silver Lake produced a 7-13 rainbow (Sierra Gold), June Lake produced a 6-8 (Sierra Gold), and Gull a 7-0 (Power Bait). All lakes yielding occasional limit of smaller fish. Rush Creek a good place for action, but fish are small, biting mostly on night crawlers.
