‘97 Seafest to Feature Music, Shows, Prizes

The second annual waterfront entertainment event known as Seafest, which features a variety of fun and educational events, will kick off June 21 and 22 at Ventura Harbor, located off Spinnaker Drive in Ventura.

The weekend festival, running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, will feature scores of musical performances ranging from reggae to big band, a bikini fashion show, cultural dance shows, sand sculpting and prize giveaways from area merchants.

For kids, there will be a petting zoo, a sand art demonstration, pony rides, puppet shows and an opportunity to meet a mermaid.

Admission and parking are free and there will be a shuttle taking participants from parking areas to the festival.
