“A group of us were tasting a bunch of Chardonnays over a period of about four days and we’d tasted a lot of white Burgundies from 1995. That’s a pretty good year [for Burgundy]. But then we tasted the 1995 Beringer Chardonnay “Sbragia Limited Release” and I fell in love with it. I think it’s probably the best Chardonnay I’ve tasted from that winery. What really hit me, along with the sheer pleasure of sipping it, is that if you’re picky you can find a wine in the state of California that is hard to equal anywhere.”
