In Brief

The solo Bon Jovi has traded in saucy pop-metal licks for mannered romanticism that’s more carefully orchestrated than the average presidential campaign. Calculated as it is, this album is not entirely without its charms. Bon Jovi successfully blends the rough edge of Bryan Adams with the sinewy swagger of INXS, but overdone production and heavy-handed arrangements keep “Destination Anywhere” from getting off the ground.
