John Elway and Terrell Davis teamed up on two early scores, and the Denver Broncos routed the 49ers, 31-17, at Denver in the final exhibition game.

Backup quarterback Jeff Lewis threw two third-quarter touchdown passes to Willie “Flipper” Anderson as Denver (3-2) dominated a San Francisco team plagued by turnovers and defensive lapses the last two preseason games.

The 49ers (1-3) trailed, 31-3, until backup quarterback Jeff Brohm led them to two late scores.
