Share

The Lancaster JetHawks were denied a wild-card playoff berth for at least one more day when the Modesto A’s, bolstered by the presence of three members of the Oakland A’s, rolled to a 10-4 victory Thursday night in Modesto.

Cirilo Cruz doubled home Joe Mathis in the third inning to tie the score, 2-2. Mathis had tripled to score Joel Ramirez.

Patrick Lennon, a late addition to the Modesto lineup after arriving just before the game, hit a 400-foot home run to center field in the bottom of the third to put Modesto ahead to stay.
