Free Sandbags Offered for Rain Preparedness
Every resident can qualify for up to 10 filled sandbags at various giveaways.
The city’s Disaster Preparedness Advisory Committee is giving away the sand to help residents prepare for expected winter storms brought by El Nino.
Sponsors include the Fountain Valley Firemen’s Assn., U.S. Naval Sea Cadets and the Huntington Beach Sunrise Rotary Club.
The giveaways will be at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, Kingston Branch, at Mile Square Regional Park, 16582 Brookhurst St.
Club members will fill the bags from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Dec. 13.
