A big Bronx cheer for printing the “real” story of Thanksgiving by Jill Lepore (Commentary, Nov. 27). On Thanksgiving, did we really need to know about beheadings, “silly costumes” and a “dubious menu”? What were you folks thinking when you chose to run this particular essay on what is perhaps our nation’s most important holiday?

As long as we’re ruining holidays for everyone, I want to take the wind out of your sails and let you know that there is no Santa Claus, that I know it was my parents who left Tooth Fairy money under my pillow and that the Easter Bunny is as real as the monster who lived under my bed.
