Share

The Santa Monica Police Department will auction unclaimed stolen goods Saturday.

Bicycles, foreign coins, jewelry and golf clubs are among the items that will be sold “as is” for cash to the highest bidder, said Carl Olson, property supervisor.

The merchandise consists of 32 bicycles as well as 151 other items, including several laptop computers. No motor vehicles will be sold and all sales are final.

Earnings from the auction, which are held each June and December, will go to Santa Monica’s general fund. In 1996, the event brought $5,000 to the city’s coffers.

A list of items to be auctioned will be available in the property room of the police station today during business hours. The items may be viewed just prior to the auction, which begins with the sale of bicycles at 9 a.m.

The auction will be held on the north side of the Police Building at 1685 Main St.
