The Assistance League of Ventura County will hold its 22nd annual Holiday Affaire at the Doubletree Hotel in Ventura on Sunday.

The event will feature silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment.

The nonprofit organization depends heavily on fund-raisers and private donations to serve children age 3 to 18 through four projects:

* Assistance League School in Oxnard has helped hundreds of developmentally delayed children enter the public school system. There are 44 children receiving services through this early intervention program.

* Girls’ and Teen Club in Ventura offers services to about 100 young girls who take part in after-school and vacation activities, where they find positive role models.

* Operation School Bell allows children who do not have adequate clothing to choose two new outfits, complete with shoes and jacket. An average of 775 children are clothed each year.

* BUFFY Bear is a program in which teddy bears are provided to fire and law enforcement agencies to be given to children for comfort in traumatic situations.

Tickets are $75, and Sunday’s event will begin at 4 p.m. For information or reservations, call 485-9894.
