City Workers to Get 2.5% Pay Increase

Most of the city’s workers, including managers, will receive a 2.5% pay raise.
The City Council this week approved increases in compensation and benefits. The estimated cost of the compensation changes is $165,200, officials said.
The pay and benefit changes are part of one-year negotiated agreements with the Placentia City Employees Assn., representing 65 workers, and the Placentia Police Management Assn., which represents 14 officers. The changes also include unrepresented mid-management and management employees and the city administrator. The salary increase is retroactive to Sept. 21.
For three years, city employees have received modest pay increases. “We try to keep our employees as close to the Orange County average salary so we can retain our good employees and attract new employees,” said Marla K. Anderson, director of administrative services.
The city and Placentia Police Officers Assn. are still negotiating.
