Ludwicki Sets School Record in OCC Victory
Orange Coast’s Jennifer Ludwicki made a school-record six three-pointers to lead the Pirates to a 69-55 victory over San Diego Mesa in a nonconference women’s basketball game Friday at OCC.
Ludwicki, a former standout at Fountain Valley High, scored a game-high 32 points, making six of 12 three-point shots, and had seven rebounds for the Pirates (9-2). Kim Schielke had 17 points, five rebounds and three assists for San Diego Mesa (9-3).
In the L.A. Valley women’s tournament:
Cypress 61, El Camino 38--Cypress’ Mary Perry had 12 assists and 11 rebounds in a consolation victory. Stephanie Durrett had a team-high 13 points for the Chargers (8-4).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Santa Ana 104, Palomar 56--Rochelle Anthony scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds for Santa Ana (4-2). Lashieka Henderson and Shanna Renke each had 20 points for the Dons.
In the Riverside Holiday men’s basketball classic:
Los Angeles City 80, Irvine Valley 78 (2 OT)--Matt Houser scored 19 points and Robert Griffin added 17 for Irvine Valley (8-3), which let a seven-point lead slip away. Germaine Small scored 16 points for Los Angeles City (7-1), which outscored the Lasers, 6-4, in the second overtime.
Riverside 55, Golden West 52--Todd Jones scored 16 points and Mark Perry added 14 for Golden West (2-8).
In the Santa Barbara men’s basketball tournament:
L.A. Trade Tech 85, Cypress 73--A.D. Lamoureux led Cypress (7-4) with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Hamadi Stewart had 12 points and eight rebounds in the second-round game.
