Warm, Sunny Week May End in Rain

Although it’s the middle of December, springlike weather and sunny skies are forecast in the Valley through most of the week.

The pleasant conditions are expected to last through Thursday, with high temperatures in the low 70s and overnight lows in the mid- to low 40s, said John Sherwin, a meteorologist for WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts to The Times.

“There will be an area of high pressure developing over the Pacific Coast and the area around Nevada and Utah, meaning that skies will be sunny,” said Sherwin. He said last week’s strong winds should be “a thing of the past.”

Scattered clouds and slightly cooler temperatures, in the high 60s, are expected Thursday.

Friday should cool off a bit more with increasing clouds and a slight chance of rain, Sherwin said.

“There’s a storm system dropping down to the eastern Pacific and that will increase clouds Thursday and Friday,” he said.

“It’s early to know exactly at this point, but we could see showers by Friday.”
