How About Funds for Dally Children?
Re: “Haun Ordered to Pay $202,400 for Her Defense” (Dec. 9):
Maybe I’m just being foolish but to my recollection Ventura County didn’t lose a mother, the Dally children did. If Diana Haun were indigent, no payment would be expected, so why should one be available now?
I don’t know the financial situation of those kids but they no longer have a mother and their father, if convicted, may well die in prison.
The $10,000 demanded for the victims’ restitution fund is not guaranteed to those children. On the other hand, $202,000 would go a long way toward rebuilding shattered young lives, through a trust fund for education and living expenses.
