The suspected triggerman in last week’s fatal shooting of 7-year-old Evan Foster remained at large Tuesday as two other men pleaded not guilty to murder charges in Inglewood Municipal Court.

Inglewood police said Tuesday that the avalanche of publicity the case had received had generated solid tips. They expressed confidence that they would soon track down the suspected triggerman, reputed gang member Charles Baker, 21, of Los Angeles.

Two other reputed members of the same Crips set, Kevin Bookman, 20, and Ollie Wilkins, who turns 19 today, were charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder in connection with the attack last week in Inglewood’s Darby Park that killed Evan and wounded his 10-month-old brother, Alec.

Judge John Vernon Meigs fixed bail for both men at just over $1 million each. The next hearing in the case is Dec. 30.

Evan Foster was killed Dec. 8 at about 7 p.m. in what police have called an attack of blind retaliation prompted by a shooting two hours earlier on reputed Crips gangsters a few blocks from Darby Park.
