Farris Is Very Good on Screen Plays

Sophomore offensive tackle Kris Farris, 6 feet 9 and 295 pounds, is one of UCLA’s rising young stars.

“He’s improved every game and he’s not even close to what he could be,” line coach Mark Weber said.

Farris also is the person players and coaches consult about movies. He has made it clear he wants to become a screenwriter and film director.

“I’m a big fan of [Steven] Spielberg,” Farris said. “He’s the one I want to be like.”

Farris already has a favorite for the Oscar race. “ ‘L.A. Confidential’--I give it four thumbs up,” he said.

As for all the teammates, coaches and friends who want to appear in his first movie, Farris said, “I need to have an epic film for a cast of thousands.”
