Sonoma County’s Todd Genke pitched a six-hit shutout as the Crushers continued their dominance of the Vigilantes with a 4-0 victory Thursday night in a Western Baseball League game at Rohnert Park.

The Vigilantes (15-22) left 11 runners on base in losing their third in a row to Sonoma County (25-15).

Mission Viejo’s best scoring opportunity came in the third when Willie Mosher led off the inning with a walk. Sam Taylor also walked, and both advanced on Bret Barberie’s sacrifice. They were stranded in scoring position when Alan Burke popped out and Corey Parker struck out.

Only in the eighth and ninth innings did Genke (7-1), who struck out 11 and walked six, retire the side in order. The Crushers committed three errors.

Sonoma County scored in the second inning when Eric White singled, stole second, was sacrificed to third by Ryan Stinson and scored on a wild pitch by Mike Smith. Smith (3-3) pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits with five strikeouts.

The Crushers added three runs in the eighth on a two-run double by Eric White and an RBI single by John Casey.

Barberie and Sean Drinkwater each had two hits for the Vigilantes. Drinkwater had the team’s only extra-base hit, a two-out double in the seventh inning.

Sonoma County finished with nine hits, led by second baseman Tim Wallace with three, including a double.

The teams play again today at Rohnert Park then travel to Saddleback College for games Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
