Spotlight: Yahoo Deal to Create Links to Amazon.com

Internet search engine Yahoo Inc. and World Wide Web bookstore Amazon.com signed a pact that will offer Yahoo users direct links related to Seattle-based Amazon.com’s 2.5 million book titles. The deal combines the Santa Clara-based Web site directory with the largest online book retailer. Executives of the companies said the partnership will enable the bookseller to extend its distribution to a broader audience on the Internet. The new service is to be launched this fall.
