Maintenance crew leader Kenneth Solvey has been chosen as a top city employee and recognized by the City Council for his service.
Solvey is the most recent beneficiary of the city’s Employee Recognition Program, which was started to honor employees with outstanding work records. The award is given in three categories: general employees, sworn police and maintenance.
Solvey has worked for the city for nearly 23 years, performing and supervising a variety of maintenance activities. He now works in the street department and is responsible for such areas as street sweeping, street signing, sewer calls and graffiti removal.
He also does extra duties, including overseeing city crews at special community events.
