Lobo Leads Liberty Over Sting
Rebecca Lobo had 16 points and 11 rebounds Thursday night to lead the New York Liberty to a 62-48 victory over the Charlotte Sting at New York and a split of their home-and-home series.
Before an announced crowd of 9,951 at Madison Square Garden, the Liberty (8-2) avenged an 87-69 loss at Charlotte they suffered Wednesday. Sophia Witherspoon had 15 points for New York.
Andrea Stinson scored 20 for the Sting (3-5), who had won three of their last four games.
Cleveland 77, Sacramento 61--Janice Lawrence Braxton had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Eva Nemcova added 15 second-half points as the Rockers posted consecutive wins for the first time with a victory in front of an announced 5,629 at Cleveland.
