Andres Galarraga drew a bases-loaded walk from San Diego reliever Trevor Hoffman with two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning Friday night, and the Colorado Rockies stopped a seven-game losing streak with a 6-5 win over the Padres.

Tony Gwynn hit two home runs in a game for only the second time, including a two-run shot with two outs in the Padre ninth that tied the score at 5.

Gwynn, who set a career-high with 15 homers, went four for five and raised his average to .399. Colorado’s Larry Walker went one for four, lowering him to .399, percentage points behind Gwynn.

Harvey Pulliam singled with one out in the Colorado 11th and Jeff Reed walked with two outs. Hoffman (3-4) fell behind Walker and intentionally walked him, loading the bases.

Galarraga walked on a full-count pitch.

Jerry Dipoto (3-1) pitched two innings and was the winner.

The Padres scored three times in the ninth against Curtis Leskanic to send the game into extra innings. They loaded the bases on a single by John Flaherty, a walk to Greg Vaughn and an infield single by Mark Sweeney.

Quilvio Veras grounded into a double play, scoring Flaherty. Gwynn homered on the first pitch from Leskanic.

Gwynn, who began his major league career in 1982 for the Padres, had his only other two-homer game on April 27, 1986, at home against San Francisco.

Gwynn extended his hitting streak to 16 games. It was his third four-hit game of the season.

A crowd of 48,053 made Colorado the first team in the majors to draw two million this season.

The Rockies have sold out 174 consecutive games, including 41 this year.

Shut out for five innings by Sterling Hitchcock, the Rockies took a 4-1 in the sixth with help from two errors by third baseman Ken Caminiti and one by catcher Flaherty.

Colorado, which activated pitcher Bill Swift from the disabled list before the game, is now 3-3 in extra-inning games this season. San Diego is 7-3.
