5 Men With Guns Invade, Rob Home

Share

Five men with handguns burst into a house late Sunday, tied up five people and left with cash and a car, sheriff’s officials said.

The victims--a 37-year-old mother, her three children and a 53-year-old guest--were inside the home on the 21000 block of Balerma about 10 p.m. when the invasion occurred, officials said. The men, described as 19 to 20 years old, had 9mm pistols and entered through the front door, which was unlocked.

Sheriff’s Lt. Ron Wilkerson said the men ordered the victims into the bathroom and kicked and punched the oldest son, a 17-year-old, before leaving the home. A “large amount of cash” was taken and deputies on Monday found the stolen car, which had been abandoned about two blocks away, Wilkerson said.

“It does not appear to be gang-related,” Wilkerson said. “But we’re still sorting through” whether any of the victims knew the attackers, he said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at (714) 425-1800.
