Re “Gas Leaf-Blower Ban Delayed Until January,” July 17: Apparently it takes more than six months to understand the word “no,” which is the same in Spanish as it is in English. It now takes a year and two warnings to understand the word. I always thought no meant no, but not in Los Angeles in the 1990s. And we wonder why our jails are so crowded.
