Motorist Seriously Injured in Head-on Crash With Bus
A motorist police said may have been driving under the influence of alcohol was seriously injured Monday when his car careened across the center line on Central Avenue downtown and crashed head-on into an MTA bus, investigators said.
Four passengers on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus--including two pregnant women who complained of back and knee pain--suffered minor injuries when the car plowed into the bus shortly after 6 a.m. near 7th Street, police said.
The driver, whose name was not released, was taken from his mangled station wagon to a hospital, authorities said.
