Two men taken to the hospital following a boating accident near Anacapa Island--one by a Coast Guard helicopter--have been released.

Jeff Crisp of Thousand Oaks was released from St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard on Sunday after suffering broken ribs. He was injured when the 100-foot sailboat he was on ran aground in shallow waters just south of the island Friday, according to a nursing supervisor and Coast Guard officials.

John Olguin, 42, of San Pedro, suffered injuries to his head and back, requiring on-board medical assistance by National Parks Service paramedics, Coast Guard officials said.

Olguin was hoisted into a Coast Guard helicopter and transported to St. John’s, where he was treated and released, according to the nursing supervisor and Coast Guard officials.

Crisp remained on board as the Coast Guard escorted the sailboat to the Port Hueneme harbor, where an ambulance was waiting to transport him to St. John’s.

A third man, who was not identified, was treated for minor injuries on the boat but did not go to the hospital, according to Coast Guard officials, who added that no one was cited in the accident.
