The question Oct. 19: Gov. Pete Wilson has signed a bill into law that makes it easier for areas of cities to secede. If the San Fernando Valley secedes from Los Angeles, what do you think should be the new city’s name?

“Like, California” as in, when you ask residents where they are from, they can say, “Like, California”--just like they do now.

But why not change both cities’ names? L.A. can become Sans Fernando.
