From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Seventeen Republicans filed a resolution seeking to force a House investigation into whether there are grounds to impeach President Clinton. The lead sponsor, Rep. Bob Barr (R-Ga.), who has tried before without success to get an impeachment inquiry started, accused Clinton of a “systematic abuse of office” including skirting campaign finance laws and obstructing congressional investigations. The resolution will be sent to the House Rules Committee.
